Humanities Research Lab (HRL) courses are existing semester-long humanities classes that are refashioned to include a significant community-based research component. A partnership between HRI and the Office of Undergraduate Research, HRLs are both a community-based curricular transformation project and a faculty development opportunity.

We are excited to announce the HRL courses for spring 2027!

  • AAS 215: US Citizenship Comparatively, taught by Soo Ah Kwon (Asian American Studies)
  • LLS 100: Introduction to Latina/o Studies, taught by Natalie Lira (Latina/Latino Studies)

Students of any major may register for one of these classes.
