HRI Gift Fund
Whether you are one of our many past fellows, an event attendee, or someone who wishes to support the humanities, we invite you to invest in HRI so we can continue to operate as a robust hub of humanities and arts-related activities that benefit the campus, the Champaign-Urbana area, and the broader scholarly community.
You can support HRI’s programming and humanities research in many ways, including: the creation of an endowment for HRI, a named annual lecture, faculty or graduate-student fellowship awards, a named award for faculty or student achievement, post-doctoral fellowship award in a designated area of the humanities, or a named lecture hall or seminar room.
Odyssey Project Fund
The Odyssey Project brings free humanities courses to income-eligible adults with limited or no access to higher education. The Odyssey Project Fund is a current use fund to support the project’s most pressing needs in a variety of ways, such as classrooms materials, books, field trips, an undergraduate internship, and mentoring and transitioning services.
Odyssey Project Futures Endowment Fund
Established through the generosity of donor Shelley Weinberg and her family’s David S. Weinberg Foundation, this endowment fund was created to help support the long-term sustainability of the Odyssey Project to ensure that it continues to transform the lives of adult learners in East Central Illinois.
HRI Humanities Gateway Internship Fund
Help undergraduate majors in humanities learn more through a paid internship in Public Media and Civic Engagement sponsored by the Humanities Research Institute (HRI), the campus humanities hub, in partnership with Illinois Public Media (IPM), the public broadcasting service of the University of Illinois (your local NPR/PBS station).
Bruce Rosenstock Humanities Research Institute Reading Group Fund
Established in memory of beloved colleague and friend Bruce Rosenstock, this fund will support HRI reading groups and their activities.
Merry-Ann Pomonis Humanities Fund
English alumnus Tony Pomonis (LAS ’02) established the Merry-Ann Pomonis Humanities Fund—named in his mother’s memory—to support community-based volunteer or internship opportunities for undergraduate humanities students.
