Ragdale Fellowship

Ragdale Residential Creative Fellowship

Ragdale is a non-profit artists' community in Lake Forest, Illinois (30 miles north of Chicago), that offers more than 150 residencies and fellowships annually. Ragdale is one of the largest interdisciplinary artists' communities in the country; each session provides 13 artists-in-residence with uninterrupted time for their work in a supportive environment that includes the historic Arts and Crafts-style home of architect Howard Van Doren Shaw, beautiful grounds, and a 50-acre prairie. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, from 2015 to 2021 HRI and Ragdale offered a summer fellowship opportunity at Ragdale for Illinois tenure-track and specialized faculty who hold full-time positions in Creative Writing, Art + Design, Music, Dance, Theatre, Architecture, and Landscape Architecture.
