Prindable - Communications and Outreach Internship

Are you passionate about the humanities? Undergraduate majors in humanities disciplines are invited to apply for a paid internship in communications and undergraduate outreach at the Humanities Research Institute (HRI), the campus humanities hub. The successful candidate will assist HRI with its communications, including social media, event calendar maintenance, and research and writing projects, in addition to serving as an undergraduate ambassador and a strategist for HRI on undergraduate engagement.

Eligibility

To be considered for the communications and outreach internship, the candidate must be a humanities major and possess strong writing and communications skills, excellent attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and an investigative mind. As this position involves outreach projects, the candidate must be comfortable interacting with peers and be willing to participate in activities that may include speaking at an event or distributing flyers around campus.

Terms

The position commences early October 2024 (may be sooner if the selected student’s employee paperwork is complete) and ends approximately May 9, 2025. The intern will work approximately six hours per week, for 24 weeks, at the rate of $15.75 per hour (up to $2,000 per year). There is flexibility regarding the hours to be worked.

Application Guidelines

In the application form, you will be asked to submit a one-page letter of interest, a resume, and a list of two references (academic or non-academic, so long as they can speak to your skills and work ethic; at least one referee should be able to comment on your writing skills). Submit your application by 11:59 p.m. on September 15, 2024.
