The Education Justice Project
HRI is proud to help support the work of the Education Justice Project, an initiative of the College of Education.
The mission of the Education Justice project is to build a model college-in-prison program that demonstrates the positive impacts of higher education upon incarcerated people, their families, the neighborhoods from which they come, the host institution, and society as a whole.
EJP offers upper-division University of Illinois courses and extracurricular activities at Danville Correctional Center, a medium-security men’s prison about 45 miles from the Urbana-Champaign campus, as well as other related programming.
